The Career Point project is well underway. Hundreds of staff across Greater Manchester are using the website and almost 800 have undertaken CPD that provides them with the knowledge required to support their students with their career planning. Don’t forget this resource and training is funded by City Deal and free to schools colleges and many other providers.

Tier 1

A series of six mini modules, intended as an introduction to CEIAG (career education, information, advice and guidance), and to provide a basic knowledge that can be used when supporting young people with their career planning. The modules are:

  • Navigating around Career Point
  • What is career education and what is careers guidance?
  • CEIAG in a policy context
  • Signposting to careers information and pathways choices
  • Apprenticeships
  • Labour market information

Each module has been designed as a self-study unit to be completed in 20/30 minutes. Modules are intended for all school and college staff and can be accessed through CIAO (our Moodle platform).

To arrange for a demonstration in your organisation and to get you started, please use the contact details above.

Organise your session

We are keen to visit schools, colleges and other providers to present an overview of Career Point for staff, together with an input on key messages on the labour market. As part of this visit we can also introduce Tier 1 training. We are flexible in terms of when we deliver and for how long – sessions between 45 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes have proved ideal.  Staff receive an electronic certificate they can add to their CPD record once the training is complete.
